I’m Rachel Melvin — an actor, writer and creator who has spent most of my adult life telling stories.

My career began in television, including two Daytime Emmy nominations for Days of Our Lives, and has since taken me through film, comedy, drama, writing, design, art and more reinventions than I ever planned for.

These days, I’m increasingly interested in the stories we tell about ourselves — especially the ones women inherit about who we’re supposed to be.

That curiosity became How Bitches Are Made, an evolving body of work about identity, agency, relationships and becoming the woman you may have put on hold.

For a long time, I thought all of my different lives existed separately.
